VISTADOME TRAIN SERVICE
The Vistadome train is perfect for those who want to immerse themselves in nature and relish the picturesque countryside as they head towards Machu Picchu. The Vistadome train operates from two departure stations to Machu Picchu: Poroy, located 25 minutes from Cusco, and Ollantaytambo, which is a 2-hour journey from Cusco. During the off-season (January through April), we offer pickup from Cusco to Ollantaytambo Train Station for the Vistadome Train.
This service also offers air conditioning, heating, and leather seats that conform to your body for added comfort and relaxation during the entire journey. The Vistadome train provides an immersive experience of Andean culture through its landscapes, music, dance, and thoughtfully crafted local cuisine.

EXPEDITION TRAIN SERVICE
On the other hand, the Expedition train is designed for the comfort of travelers, featuring four passenger seats facing each other, encouraging interaction and shared experiences. For adventurous backpackers, there are racks above the seats for storage. This train comes equipped with panoramic windows, air conditioning, heating, snacks, and Andean music to create a lively atmosphere.
The Expedition train departs from Ollantaytambo, which is a 2-hour drive from Cusco. You will be conveniently picked up by our private van from Cusco to reach Ollantaytambo and, upon your return from Aguas Calientes, you’ll be taken back to Cusco and dropped off at your hotel.
Our standard tours and treks include the EXPEDITION TRAIN, departing from Ollantaytambo to Aguas Calientes and returning to Ollantaytambo. This travel experience offers the quality and benefits of Peru Rail at a more budget-friendly cost than the Vistadome train service.
