In 2021, the usage of entrance tickets to Machu Picchu underwent significant changes. The new visiting rules for Machu Picchu in 2024 include the introduction of five distinct circuits for exploring the Inca site. These circuits have been implemented to ensure the preservation and sustainability of this UNESCO World Heritage site and are governed by the “Regulation on Sustainable Use and Tourist Visits for the Conservation of Llacta Machu Picchu.”
To secure your Machu Picchu tickets for 2024, you can either book them online through the Ministry of Culture’s official website or seek assistance with the booking process. It’s important to note that there are a limited number of tickets available for Machu Picchu, with only 4,500 tickets in total. These tickets are allocated to various options, including Inca trail tours, the Machu Picchu citadel, Huchuy Picchu, Huaynapicchu, and the Mountain. Consequently, it is advisable to make your reservations well in advance to secure your visit.
